The documentary Döttrar (Daughters), directed by Jennifer Malmqvist, offers a unique approach on grief and loss.

Sofia, Hedvig and Maja grew up together on the countryside in Southern Sweden with their mom Carolina - a radiant personality and a devoted mother. In 2010 Carolina took her own life. Today, the girls - then aged 8, 10 and 16 - are young adults. Life has gone on, but they have all struggled in different ways to cope with grief.

The film documents this intimate process and the everyday lives of the girls as they struggle with their loss in the aftermath of their trauma..
