SPRING IS FOR SOWING

Årstiderna är förknippade med naturens cykler, men kategoriseras främst utifrån jordbruket. Filmen visar repetitiva, cirkulära rörelsemönster som pendlar mellan lantbruksarbete och ritualer – och det som finns däremellan.

Set on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, the film follows my father as he builds a house in the city where our family sought refuge during the Yugoslav wars. This short version provides an intimate glimpse into a larger documentary project that explores memory, resilience, family relations, and the politics and poetics of life in the Balkans.  

GODSIBB, GOSSIB, GOSSIP

Through a series of conversations between women who have recently become mothers, Godsibb, gossib, gossip examines the etymological and cultural transformation gossip—from the Old English godsibb, referring to god parents, and later, the women who take care of other women after childbirths. These dialogues— partly documentary, partly re-enacted—move between personal narrative and collective reflection, as the nature of gossip and the politics of speaking together is examined.

IN THE LANDSCAPE

in the landscape investigates the metal detector as a poetic tool. It relates to the private and the public through bureaucratic rule-breaking. The metal detector mediates a dialogue between the artist and the unknown substance of the soil (girl). Music by Daniele Di Girolamo.

Once a bustling port in Malmö's industrial heyday, the site now gives way to rising office
buildings. We follow a worker’s cart moving through a structure caught between construction and completion, deserted and partially inhabited. The cart guides us through the newly mapped-out floorplans, mirroring the port area’s flux state, simultaneously being built up and dismantled.

WO EE O

A comic opera for voice, thought, speech and sound. Wo Ee O is an “imageless” film about the correlations between meaning and nonsense. The narrator is somehow lost in the dark, haunted by entangled memories, associations, wishes, desires and is having a hard time finding the connection between mind and language. 

SHE WROTE STORIES ABOUT THEM

The film explores the grandmother as story—teller and carrier— of—memory, the act of remembering and the loss of a language and a voice. How is memory passed on and reshaped? Through recurring images of eyes and a voiceless narration, the film traces the shifting line between memory, history, and disappearance.

WHEN GENERATIONS PASS

Recently, I video-recorded all the statues that I could find, whilst walking around different cities. I tried to investigate them outside of their context of existence, and tried to see them as beings of material, rather than their purpose of being a monument or statue. The song and lyrics are made from an imagination of the statues singing.
