75 SHOTS – Queer Underground Cinema from the Global South
Datum: Fre 17 apr

75 SHOTS is a global collective of queer BIPOC filmmakers across the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia, and beyond, creating and sharing anonymous queer cinema from countries where their identities are criminalized or face intense social backlash. Created in secrecy and forged in defiance, their films speak of love, joy, resistance, and the reimagining of freedom.

The project was founded by Montreal-based filmmaker Karin Hazé in 2016, beginning as a mentorship program teaching filmmaking using only smartphones. Since then the network has been sharing their work at closed events and guerrilla screenings around the world.

For this event, we will be visited by Karin Hazé who will offer us an introduction to the project before screening a selection from their hidden catalogue, only available at closed screenings like these.

The event takes place at Panora as part of Malmö Queer Film Festival, in collaboration with PAGE 28.

PAGE 28 is a Malmö-based community-run queer bookstore, cultural scene and community space. They continuously host a cultural program with queer artists and storytellers from around the world while also acting as a resource for queer artists and writers in the local community.

IMPORTANT: The event has a strict no-photo policy, for the safety of the people appearing in the films.
