Malmö Queer Film Festival i samarbete med Goethe-Institut Schweden bjuder in till filmvisning av Alles wird gut med efterföljande samtal.

Att visa en klassisk queerfilm har blivit en MQF-tradition. Definitionen av klassiker är så klart öppen... I år tog vi tillfället att visa en älskad tysk TV-film från slutet av 1990-talet, Alles wird gut. Filmen var också den första med en nästan uteslutande afro-tysk rollbesättning som finansierades av tysk TV. Efter filmen kommer regissören Angelina Maccarone att ansluta sig till oss via Zoom för att berätta mer om sitt långa arbete inom film och TV och diskutera tyska HBTQ-filmer från 1990-talet fram till idag. Missa inte det – det finns några väldigt roliga historier om produktionen av Alles wird gut!

Kim satsar på karriären: om nästa jobb blir lyckat blir hon delägare i reklambyrån och gifter sig med chefen. Nabu klarar sig: dumpad av sin flickvän Katja äter hon choklad som bröd och använder sin kvicka humor skoningslöst. När Kim söker städhjälp tar Nabu jobbet, trots att hon har en något kaotisk uppfattning om hushållsarbete. Det verkliga motivet är att Katja bor en våning upp. Men ju mer Nabu blir involverad i Kims liv, desto mindre attraktiv blir ex:et.

Angelina Maccarone har gjort en genomgående charmig film kryddad med ordlekar och situationskomik, som slutar... tja, alles wird gut – allt kommer att bli bra. Filmen innehåller rasistiskt språk.

Presenting a classic queer movie has become a MQF tradition. The definition of classic is admittedly open… This year, we took the opportunity to screen a beloved TV film from the late 1990s, Alles wird gut, which was also the first entertainment film with an almost exclusively Afro-German cast to be funded by German television. After the film, the director Angelina Maccarone, will join us via Zoom to tell us more about her long work in film and TV and discuss German queer film from the 1990s until today. Don’t miss it – there are some hilarious stories about the production of Alles wird gut!

Kim is in for the career: if the next job is successful, she’ll become a partner in the advertising agency and marry the boss. Nabu gets by: abandoned by her girlfriend Katja, she eats chocolate like bread and uses her quick wit mercilessly. When Kim looks for cleaning help, Nabu takes the job, although she has a somewhat messy approach to housework. The real motive is that her ex-girlfriend lives upstairs. However, the more Nabu gets involved in Kim’s life, the less attractive the Ex becomes.

Angelina Maccarone made a thoroughly charming film peppered with wordplay and situation comedy, that ends… well, alles wird gut – everything will be fine. The film contains racist language.
