Del LaGrace Volcano is a gender variant visual artist and cultural producer working with the body and gender/sexual identity notions for both social, political and personal purposes.
During Malmö Queer Film Festival a selection of Del LaGrace Volcano's work will be projected in the foyer.
Del LaGrace Volcano attended the San Francisco Art Institute, and received an MA in Photographic Studies at the University of Derby in 1992. Selected publications include: Love Bites (1991), The Drag King Book (with Judith Halberstam, 1999), Sublime Mutations (2000), Sex Works (with Beatriz Preciado, 2005) as well as Femmes of Power: Exploding Queer Femininities (with Ulrika Dahl, 2009).
Del's work has been exhibited extensively, among others in 2012 in the solo exhibition Del LaGrace Volcano: A Mid-Career Retrospective, at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. Del is a regular contributor to academic publications, television programs and films on visual art and queer and feminist theory and is now based in Sweden.
