Welcome to a screening of Exodus, which opened Göteborg Film Festival 2023, followed by a Q&A in English with the director Abbe Hassan. Moderator is Mattias Nohrborg, one of the producers of the film.

Amal flees the war in Syria and is forced to put her life into the hands of the people smuggler Sam. Amal is also a desirable prey for the trafficking organisation that is constantly on the lookout for new young girls to exploit and sell. Sam is the only one who can save her from the horrors of war and human trafficking, and Amal is the one who, with her imagination and playfulness, can pierce through Sam’s cynicism and help him make peace with his past.
